Aerospace Engineering Minor

Minor Requirements

College of Engineering and Computing

A student may obtain a minor in aerospace engineering by completing at least 18 credit hours consisting of three core courses and three approved elective courses.

Minor Requirements (18 Hours)

I. Core Aerospace Courses (9 hours)

Must take the two following:

EMCH 577 - Aerospace Structures I Credits: 3
EMCH 578 - Introduction to Aerodynamics Credits: 3

Choice of one of the following:

EMCH 508 - Finite Element Analysis in Mechanical Engineering Credits: 3
EMCH 585 - Introduction to Composite Materials Credits: 3

II. Elective Aerospace Courses (9 hours)

Must take at least three additional courses from the following:

EMCH 508 - Finite Element Analysis in Mechanical Engineering Credits: 3
EMCH 516 - Control Theory in Mechanical Engineering Credits: 3
EMCH 522 - Design for Manufacture and Assembly Credits: 3
EMCH 532 - Intermediate Dynamics Credits: 3
EMCH 544 - Compressible Fluid Flow Credits: 3
EMCH 554 - Intermediate Heat Transfer Credits: 3
EMCH 560 - Intermediate Fluid Mechanics Credits: 3
EMCH 571 - Mechanical Behavior of Materials Credits: 3
EMCH 575 - Adaptive Materials and Smart Structures Credits: 3
EMCH 584 - Advanced Mechanics of Materials Credits: 3
EMCH 585 - Introduction to Composite Materials Credits: 3
EMCH 592 - Introduction to Combustion Credits: 3
